Elder Curtis Goode is serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He has been assigned to serve in the Ecuador Guayaquil North Mission. He arrived in Ecuador on October 21, 2008 and will serve till August 20, 2010. He is excited to share his experiences and adventures with anyone willing to read about them in the hopes that they will want to know more about the gospel or serving a mission.
Fun pictures! I think it would be great to go and share the gospel with a bunch of people my own age. It looks like a lot of fun. I've been really impressed with Curtis and his testimony and excitement about being a missionary.
ReplyDeleteWe are very impressed with his dedication to go and serve also. I believe he is having a good time doing it. He always seems to be smiling in the pictures. However he is not a very emotional kid, so it is hard to tell what he is really thinking or feeling. He doesn't complain or get all excited, just goes about things in a steady way.
ReplyDeleteWhen Michelle and Jeff were sealed in the Logan temple, the sealer used a scripture in Alma to describe how each of us should be about the gospel. It is found in Alma 38:2-3.
"And now, my son, I trust that I shall have great joy in you, because of your steadiness and your faithfulness unto God; for as you have commenced in your youth to look to the Lord your God, even so I hope that you will continue in keeping his commandments; for blessed is he that endureth to the end.
I say unto you, my son, that I have had great joy in thee already, because of thy faithfulness and thy diligence, and thy patience and thy long-suffering among the people of the Zoramites."
The sealer talked of Alma's son Shiblon and told us that he should be a great example to all of us. We should pattern our lives after him. I had never paid much attention to Shiblon, but when I came home and read the scripture, I immediately thought of Curtis. He is faithful, diligent, patient and long-suffering. He has been a good son all of his life and dedicated to the gospel. He has been a great example to all those around him. He has kept the commandments from his youth and was prepared to go and serve a mission. He has brought great joy to his parents. He is steady and faithful unto God. We are so very proud of him and know that he is a good missionary and he will become a great missionary as he continues to work and study.
